Through Partnership with Local Leaders, Plain Sight Debuts Tech Tuesdays in Miami

Tech Tuesdays Miami set to kickoff on April 4th, during Miami Tech Month, with the support of Venture Miami to connect and empower tech communities. Partners include Institute of Black Wealth and PS Social.

Miami, FL - Plain Sight, an event tech startup, is launching Tech Tuesdays in Miami - a free workspace and event series concept designed to connect and empower founders, funders, coders, creatives, and community builders in the tech industry. The goal is to provide intentional gatherings that build a more diverse and innovative tech community through free workspace during the day with wifi, meeting rooms, and mentor office hours, as well as an event space at night for anyone in tech to make new connections.

Through partnership with the Institute of Black Wealth and PS Social, the series will kick off in Miami on April 4th - which is the first Tuesday of Miami Tech Month. After that, the series will continue to take place every Tuesday going forward. The space is located in the heart of Midtown near Wynwood and the Design District at PS Social (51 NW 36th St, Miami, FL 33127). A valet service is provided to attendees as well.

“Having consistent spaces to gather and make connections is critical when it comes to building a thriving tech community”, says Plain Sight’s CEO James Chapman. “Our goal with Tech Tuesdays is to build a framework so that all people in tech have the ability to utilize shared spaces to host events, share knowledge, and collaborate.” Plain SIght’s technology enables event hosts to find sponsors, sell tickets, and connect attendees.

The activation has rallied support from Miami community partners and business leaders in tech, venture, and entertainment. Venture Miami, the office within the City of Miami focused on technology and innovation, is among the partners who have joined the initiative. "We're excited to support Plain Sight's Tech Tuesdays initiative," says Kelly Montoya, Head of Partnerships for Venture Miami. "Providing a space where the tech community can connect and collaborate is crucial for Miami's continued growth as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. Tech Tuesdays provides an opportunity for all Miamians to tap into the tech industry and learn more about the opportunities available to them, whether they are already involved in tech or just starting to explore it."

The Institute of Black Wealth (IBW), a platform to deliberately and creatively engineer how Black wealth is created, is another valued partner of the initiative. “IBW is collaborating alongside Plain Sight with the intention to expose the minority community to grow in the tech sector, provide overall content to help them grow in the tech world, and inject themselves into Miami’s rapidly growing tech industry,” says Ted Lucas, co- Founder of IBW and Technolij, Inc. Mr. Lucas was first introduced to Plain Sight’s CEO when approached to take part in their Black Founders Demo Day event that they curated during Art Basel.

The Team at PS Social immediately jumped at the opportunity for the collaboration when approached by Plain Sight. PS Social also hosted the Plain Sight Team during Art Basel at their space last year for a brunch they curated for Cadillac called: Making Major Moves Brunch. "Creating the Partnership for Tech Tuesday plays a vital role in bridging the gap between entrepreneurs & community. With our focus at PS Social of creating a Safe Haven of beneficial collaborations, Plain Sight has brought together a phenomenal team to effectively accomplish that goal,” says Shareef Nash, co-Founder of PS Social.
