Networking Needs A Reboot

It matters who we meet. Studies show that 85% of open positions are filled through networking. Seems crazy, right? The fact that making meaningful work connections is necessary to have a successful career, but doing so without help is like trying to find a needle in a haystack.

For something so important, the process is completely broken, and we must change the way new business relationships are formed. Imagine a world where mutually beneficial relationships don’t happen by luck. Instead, they’re created whenever people who have things in common share space with one another.

If we’re going to give networking a proper reboot, we must do so with intentionality at the core and forefront. We must equip our community with the necessary tools so they no longer miss opportunities to connect, and change the current state of networking - which is random, awkward, and too damn transactional.

We All Are Over Transactional Networking

By taking a community approach, we eliminate the transactional vibe. It shouldn’t be about “what can you do for me”, but instead “what can I do for you”. Be vulnerable, ask questions, and receive advice. We provide structure for you to ask questions and get solutions from people you share space with both digitally and physically.

Building Connections Shouldn’t Be Awkward

We’ve all been in a room full of people wondering “does this person want to talk” and “will it be beneficial”. After a few minutes of running through potential icebreakers in your head, you pull out your phone and pretend to be doing something important. With Plain Sight, you never have to experience this again.

Great Connections Shouldn’t Be Left Up To Chance

We shouldn’t have to talk to 10 different people to find one relevant connection . We should be able to be intentional about who we meet. From the minute you complete your profile, we will curate your experience, providing you with leads based on the connections you’re looking to make, so you don’t miss an opportunity.

This is a big idea, but I truly believe we are on a path to restructure the way networking happens. We believe no one should miss the opportunity to connect with the type of people they’re looking to meet wherever they go, both online and in-person.

We aim to be the Spotify of networking - always helping you be in the right place, with the right people, at the right time. Let’s Build!
